The Hungarian Ministry for Environment and Water ((Magyar Környezetvédelmi és Vízügyi Minisztérium, KvVM) is the governmental institution, responsible for the environmental, nature conservation and water issues and policies. http:// www.kvvm.hu. There was launched a scientific, strategic plan, for the years 2003-2007, titled "The Current Status and Future Objectives of Research and Development in the Areas of Environmental Conservation and Water Affairs”. One of its main direction is ”Biodiversity and the protection of living and non-living natural assets”. The Hungarian Ministry for Environment and Water (Magyar Környezetvédelmi és Vízügyi Minisztérium) is responsible for the coordination of some environmental research in Hungary. There is a MoU between the ministry and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) on support and coordination of Hungarian projects on Biodiversity Research: Hungarian National Biodiversity monitoring System Coordinated by The Ministry for Environment and Water (KvVM).
Moreover the Hungarian Bioplatform is linked to the European Bioplatform, in which the Hungarian partner is Prof. Edit Láng (IEB, HAS) and will be valuable tool for the acquirement of information needed for the planned project. Biodiversity and related research |
